DAN PAWSON – A DISCOGRAPHY
Dan Pawson on vinyl, tape, CD and DVD
Compiled by Fred Eatherton and Richard Ekins
In a recording career that lasted over 40 years, Dan Pawson’s recorded output was very large. In addition to releases on New Orleans Anthology, La Croix, Rampart Records, NoLa Records, All That Jazz, Eustachius, MEK, Festa New Orleans Music, GHB Records, Marlstone Recordings, P.E.K Sound, Raymer Sound, Music Mecca, 504/La Croix and
We have been fortunate to have had access to Dan’s own files to piece together his recorded work, and to confirm that all of the recordings shown here still exist. Dan had a large cassette collection which he meticulously itemised in four index books and these were made available to us by his son,
Spencer. This material was to form the basis of the Dan Pawson Discography compiled by Raymond Lee and published in 2000 (Zwolle, Netherlands: Gerard Bielderman). Since then, however, a large amount of information and additional material has come to light which prompted us to produce a new listing. It is our hope that readers will correct any errors or ambiguities and hopefully provide further material for inclusion. Any comments, corrections, etc. should be forwarded to lacroixrecords@gmail. com. It is our hope to update this work in six months’ time, as we are already processing additional material made up of
A large number of people have been involved in this work to date and we would particularly like to thank Spencer Pawson, Rob Ridley, Bob Coles, Stan Stephens, Clinton Sedgley, Paul ‘Spud’ Sped- ding, Tony Peatman, Keith Adams, Dion Cochrane, the late Clive ‘Claude’ Deacon, Robert Green- wood, John Dunmore, Chris Slade, Dave Smith and Richard

Recorded by Rob Ridley. This is, so far, the only extant recording known that features Dutch Lewis with the AHS. Dutch played with the band on a number of occasions around this time. He was a professional musician then and still is today
(11/2012). He remains a pillar of the Midlands music scene and, very interestingly, collaborated with Ray Foxley on a film score in the 1970s.
